Flat-panel displays that show 3D images to multiple viewers, without the need to wear special eyeglasses, can be manufactured using cylindrical micro-lens arrays. Each micro-lens sends the light of different pixels in different directions (the so called viewing zones) in such a way that the two eyes of each viewer see a different image. The parallax between both images is used by the human brain to perceive depth.
